Dr. Swathi studies languages for a living and considers this the best possible arrangement. Based at the Karky Research Foundation, her research focuses on comparative linguistics with Tamil at its centre. She writes about grammar, etymology, and the delightful ways in which languages from opposite ends of the world manage to think alike — all with a cup of filter coffee within arm's reach.

Kiranya came to linguistics through sound — through years of radio, storytelling, and the realisation that every language has its own music. As an RJ and podcaster, she has an instinct for the spoken word that shapes everything she writes. At Mozhiyaazhi, she brings the cultural warmth and the human stories that live inside languages, making linguistics feel less like a subject and more like a conversation.
